User Interface

Gmail has a very sleek, neat UI that lets the user easily glance
and click through mails. This UI makes major controls like ‘Refresh’, ‘Settings’,
etc. readily available at the top of the window for easy navigation. And like
other Google services, one can easily have access to other services like
search, maps, documents, calendar, etc.
Labels
With the use of labels, one can keep their mails really
organized and by changing the label colors, you don’t even need to look at the
subject before you know what kind of mail it is. You can even filter by a label
to see all the mails in that category. Labels can be a life saver in getting
organized.
Google Chrome Synchronization
If you aren’t already using Google Chrome, you probably make
fire by smacking two rocks against each other. Chrome is miles ahead of the
competition. The chrome webstore allows you to install applications to your
browser. Even though many of them are just links to the web app itself, it
makes it easy to access these services. Once signed into Google Chrome with
your gmail account, it syncs your bookmarks and your apps. That way if you’re
installing Chrome on a new computer or even on your old one after it crashed,
you get all of your apps and bookmarks restored like nothing ever happened.
Android
If you don’t already own and android device, you may some
day. The first step to activating an android phone is by signing in with your
Gmail account. If you don’t have one, you’re allowed to create a new one right
there. This not only gives you a way to back up your information with google
but it also gives you access to the tens of thousands of apps available on the
android market.
