Internet connection speed really matters. But come to think of it, a lot of people have really good bandwidth except for some third world countries and some other less privileged people.

@LD_The idea of have an 'internet-based' OS is that it reduces how much you spend on hardware. Imagine buying a computer that cost only $250 and can play a game like Prince of Persia because the game is running on a server online. Now that's cool 🙂 Other things you should consider are file sharing, viruses, etc. You'll be able to easily share files with friends and family around the world and you won't have any fear of getting infected with viruses really. These and plenty more are the advantages of the open source, web-based OS. 🙂
